Los municipales pretendían impedir que obtuvieran imágenes del retiro de un comerciante y ante la negativa de los fotógrafos los golpearon. El Gremio periodistico repudia energicamente cualquier atentado contra la libertad de expresión y el uso de la violencia contra la ciudadanía.
Después que se denunciara al medio dia de este lunes la artera agresión de inspectores del Auntamiento de Toluca, contra dos reporteros gráficos que retrataban el momento en que los empleados municipales efectuaban el retiro de comerciantes ambulantes en el primer cuadro de la ciudad, aprentemente con exceso de fuerza; el Gobierno que encabeza el Alcalde Juan Rodofo Sánchez Gómez informó que dio de baja a tres de los empleados implicados en la agresión.
De acuerdo a las versiones de algunos testigos de la situación, los inspectores trataban de retirar de la vía pública a un vendedor de frituras, de manera agresiva, lo que atrajo la atención de los transeuntes que reclamaban a los servidores públicos su proceder y asimismo originó que los reporteros capturaran imagenes de la situación, lo que al parecer enfureció a los empleados municipales que arremetieron contra ellos para tratar de inhibir su labor y obtener la evidencia de su incorrecto proceder.
Ante este intento, los fotógrafos reusaron a entregar su material y equipo, lo que se detonó una gresca en la cual ambos periodistas resultaron victimas de la brutalidad de los verificadores, provocandoles algunas contusiones.
Por esta situación, los periodistas acudieron a las autoridades para denunciar los hechos, contando además con el respaldo y solidaridad del gremio periodistico que de manera enérgica repudia la situación y exige al Alcalde no tolerar este tipo de conductas violentas y abusivas de empleados del ayuntamiento ni para inhibir la libertad de expresión y tampoco contra ningún ciudadano. Asimispo solicitan que se impongan las sanciones respectivas más alla de la destitución efectuada.
Por estos hechos, la tarde del mismo lunes, el gobierno municipal de Toluca informó a través de un comunicado que “tiene cero tolerancia ante conductas impropias de servidores públicos, por lo que de forma inmediata han sido dados de baja en sus funciones tres verificadores de la Dirección General de Gobierno, quienes presuntamente agredieron a fotógrafos de prensa.”
Reiteran que la administración que encabeza el presidente municipal Juan Rodolfo Sánchez Gómez lamenta estos hechos y cumple su compromiso de proteger a la población y tener mano firme contra corrupción, arbitrariedades o conductas que pongan en peligro a cualquier ciudadano.
